Marvelous yarn but much thinner than before

I bought this to combine with another color of Silky Merino in my stash and unfortunately this yarn seems much, much thinner. On it’s own it’s a nice yarn, but it seems a lot thinner than the DK it’s supposed to be.

Description

This delightfully drapey favourite combines 50% silk and 50% merino into a single-ply DK yarn that is an absolute treat to knit and a joy to wear. The combination is soft, smooth, and itch-free even on the most sensitive skin- absolutely wonderful for garments, scarves, and other next-to-your-skin items. The silk content gives the yarn a bit more weight and drape than a pure merino, and a slight sheen that is absolutely gorgeous. The fibres take dye a little differently, adding extra depth to the wide selection of semi-solid, variegated, and watercolour-multi colourways available.

Great for: Accessories, shawls, garments, cables, colourwork, textured stitches, lace.

Yarn Weight:  DK
Blend:  51% Silk 49% Merino

Note: Malabrigo comes in small dye lots so please be sure to buy enough yarn for your project. As with any hand dyed yarn, there can be significant shade differences between skeins, even within a dye lot, so we recommend that you alternate skeins every few rows to prevent striping.
