Perfect Circular Needles
Amazing craftmanship these needles are.

I ordered three of these in two different packages. I was disappointed with the first lot (a 3.75 and a 4.5mm), finding it difficult to get a good angle between the tips for knitting--let alone purling or casting on--because of the length of the tips/metal joins relative to the length of the actual cable. Not good. BUT the third one, ordered while the first package was still in transit? It's a 2.5mm I bought to use for socks, it has slightly longer wooden tips but significantly shorter metal joins (so overall more of the 25cm length is cable), and it WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. I cast on a cuff-down sock this morning and all is well, the ribbing's coming along nicely. I don't know whether this means that the first two needles were of an earlier design which KnitPro has since corrected, or whether it's pot luck if the size I want will have a sensible ratio of tip to cable length. So three stars, because the 2.5mm needle works exactly as I could wish, but the larger sizes don't.

The needle tips are so large a proportion of the 25cm length that they seriously restrict the angle you can get between the needles. This makes it a little tricky to knit, and a lot tricky to purl. KnitPro should have shortened the needle tips further, and/or shortened the metal part of the needle, and then increased the cable length to compensate. That would have produced a more usable product. Clearly I will have to try another brand if I want a functional sub-16" circular.
