Just purchased the smartstix what a wonderful idea when you've not got a tape measure to hand. Loving their smooth feel and ease if use. I suffer with hand and joint problems these are perfect for me . I also love the zing edition too.

A cable and tape measure in one!
Smart Cables are colour coded by length and marked at 2cm intervals so you can measure your creations on the go! Resilient, flexible cables lay flat with no kink or twist. Smooth joins enable stitches to slide easily from tip to cable. The tightening key facilitates effortless tightening of tips to the cable. Also includes two end caps that fit on the cable to keep your knitting safe.
These cables are designed to be used with SmartStix tips, however all KnitPro tips and cables are compatible across all their ranges.
Please note: the final cable length listed is achieved when needle tips and cables are joined together, and is NOT the actual length of the cable.

** If using the 40cm cable, it is recommended that the short KnitPro needle tips are used with them. Using standard length tips will make the length from tip-to-top approximately 46cm, but will also limit the angle you can get between the tips and may make knitting very awkward.
